Greetings from Mr. Gault

Students have been very busy over the last couple of weeks writing a series of standardized tests.  Seventh grade students spent a week taking the Cognitive Abilities Test (Cogats), an assessment intended to estimate students' learned reasoning and problem solving abilities through a battery of verbal, quantitative and non-verbal test items.  That testing was followed with all grades participating in six days of the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS). These tests provide teachers with a diagnostic look at how our students are progressing in key academic areas.

Please join us for our annual Fall Luncheon.  It will be held at the beautiful Westbury Manor, Westbury, New York, on Tuesday, 14 November, beginning at 11 am, and our featured speaker w ill be Bernadette Castro,  former NY State Commissioner of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (and YES she is the little girl opening the Castro Convertible).   A fantastic menu, including cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, and a sit down three course luncheon will be offered at our festive event.  Please  click here  to register using our secure online registration.

The committee has been working very hard and has put together an extraordinary event.  Below, members of our Luncheon Committee work together to stuff and mail more than 800 invitations in the first week of October.  If you have not received an invitation, please let us know!  Guests will have an opportunity to win great raffle prizes donated by our generous committee members and benefactors, and to participate in a cash raffle.  If you would like to donate an item or basket for our raffle, or participate in our cash raffle (winner need not be present to win!), please contact our Director of Development at 516-379-0012.  We look forward to welcoming you at this important event in support of the students at The De La Salle School.
