Thanks for adding "giving" into Thanksgiving

On behalf of Child Foundation and its wonderful team around the world, I want to reach out personally to each of our friends and our supporters to say thank you for all that you've done for Child Foundation.

In this day and age of bad news from around the world, whether it is war, refugee crisis, poverty and famine, hurricane or drought, it is you and your support that have given us hope and power to continue. You made a difference in the lives of thousands of children who receive our monthly scholarship stipend, you provided food to thousands of people through Child Foundation's food basket program and you planted smiles on more than two thousand kids when they received their new backpacks before school started.

Because of your partnership we were able to make a difference and touch people's lives. So, on this Thanksgiving, I wish you and your family a very wonderful and happy Thanksgiving and thank you for putting the "giving" into Thanksgiving.

I encourage you to visit our Thanksgiving page to share your blessings with us.

Thank You for the Coals

The weather is getting cold in Afghanistan and they are heading for yet another brutal winter. Most people in need do not have oil or gas to heat their home and their only source of heat is burning coal.

We learned a hard lesson from last year's harsh winter when many of the families we supported had a very hard time finding coals to heat their homes. So, this year we were able to purchase and distribute truckloads of coal to some of the families of children who are under the care of Child Foundation. It was a hard and messy job but our wonderful staff and volunteers in Mazar-e-Sharif did a fantastic job of organizing it.

There are still many other families in need of coals and a gift of $120 can get one family through winter. If you wish to participate in warming someone's home and heart, please donate here.

Thank You Volunteers and Donors

Last week we had a few fundraising events. In Los Angeles, Solhjoo family, our devoted sponsors, had a private fundraiser in their house along with Persian music and dance. We received 10 new sponsors on the spot. Child Foundation also had an informational table in "Adam & Eve" theatrical play directed by Fariborz Davoudi where we received additional sponsors for children.

In Ames, Iowa, our volunteer, Bita, along with her friends organized a fundraiser and collected hundreds of dollars for our Thanksgiving initiative.

Many thanks to all volunteers and our new donors and sponsors. If you like to join us as a volunteer, please complete our volunteer application here.

Thank You for #GivingTuseday

This coming Tuesday, November 29 th join in on the global movement and give- whether it is your time, a gift or a donation. This is a good time also to inspire other in your family, circle of friends and your community and give back.

Without your support, we cannot help children in need to have access to education or many other humanitarian activities that Child Foundation is involved.

Thank you for helping us helping children to go to school, delivering nourishment, providing heat, providing social connection and encouraging each other to do good.
Hi, I'm Eilia!
I am 7 years old from Karaj. I am a successful second grade student and live with my single mother who has many illnesses.

My mother despite all her disabilities, works hard as a cleaning lady and tries to make ends meet to cover our rent as well as our education expenses.

I love school but it is hard to see my mother suffer like this. We need your help for my educational expenses.

Tabriz school
A generous lady donated a large piece of land to be used for building a school for children in need in Tabriz.

Child Foundation has finished surveying the land and have blue prints ready.

Coal for Cold!

Winter is approaching fast in Afghanistan, and concern of many families we support is their "heat".

They usually use coal for their coal stove and heaters. This year they are also concerned about security of the area and how difficult it could be to look for coal.

According to our office in Mazar-e-sharif, the cost of coal for each family is about $80. If you like to help a family in need to stay warm this winter, please donate $80 for each family here.
