Weekly Update
Most County roads reopen after flooding; respect closure signs
Heavy rain and flooding during the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend prompted Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation to close or restrict traffic on more than 30 roads.
A bridge on Beal Road was damaged by high water; repairs were made quickly, and the bridge reopened to traffic Monday (Nov. 28). Two roads remain impacted: 334th Avenue, north of TV Highway, remains closed,  and Patton Valley Road, at Dundee Road, remains partially restricted.
Travelers are reminded to respect road closure signs. Roads are closed for safety reasons. It is illegal for motorists, pedestrians or bicyclists to move or travel around road-closure barricades. To report someone moving or traveling around a barricade, call the Washington County Sheriff's Office nonemergency dispatch at 503-629-0111.

Open House
Input sought in Transportation Futures Study online open house
Those who live, work and play in Washington County are asked to join the conversation about the future of transportation during the Washington County Transportation Futures Study Online Open House though Dec. 2.
The open house shares the study results and provides an opportunity for the public to comment. Specifically, the study team is looking for public input on what should be studied further and how to prioritize funding and investment areas. Comments received will help the County identify potential future transportation strategies and investments.  Washington County Transportation Futures Study Online Open House.

Aloha Tomorrow topic of Aloha Business Association meeting
Property and business owners are invited to attend the Aloha Business Association meeting from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Peppermill Restaurant, 17455 SW Farmington Road, to learn about the Aloha Tomorrow project.

Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation staff will discuss how the project may generate business-related opportunities and challenges.

Road News
Current roadwork and closures
Visit www.wc-roads.com for the latest road information, including capital road construction, upcoming road maintenance work and weekend events that may impact traffic in Washington County. All paving work is weather-dependent and schedules may be adjusted due to changes in the weather or for other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Construction on Fischer Road, between SW 131st Avenue and Highway 99W, will occur 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays starting Dec. 5. Flaggers will direct traffic through lane closures. Media release

Neighborhood Meetings for Proposed Developments:

NOTE: This information is provided here as a courtesy only. Neighborhood meetings are required before developers submit certain land use applications to the County (for areas outside cities). These meetings provide a forum for the developer, affected CPO (Community Participation Organization) and nearby property owners to discuss the proposal informally. TONIGHT - Proposed modification of Touchmark Heights
At 6:30 p.m. (Nov. 30) at Cedar Hills Recreation Center, 11640 SW Park Way. The property is about 77 acres in the R-5, R-9 and R-15 districts (Residential, 4-5 units per acre, 7-9 units per acre and 12-15 units per acre, respectively) and is bordered by SW Miller Road on the east and SW Barnes Road on the south (see map at right).

The proposal calls for relocation of an approved eight-story residential building for future development; construction of a vineyard clubhouse and accessory buildings; and modifications to single-family lots, four-plex units and an independent-living facility.
