Food Resource Support Center (FRSC)
During November & December  Help stock the shelves at the FRSC with non perishable foods such as:  cans of soup, chili or stew;  canned meats and fruits;  snack and granola bars ... there is a box in the downstairs living room for all your donations!

Each time you go to the grocery,  pick up something to share with someone in need!

During the Thanksgiving & Christmas season
we will work together to support Heifer Project
Through Heifer International a donation can provide an animal to a needy family.    These gifts provide food and a way for them to support their families.

We have “Honor Cards” for you to give as a gift to honor a friend or loved one through a gift to Heifer.    Cathie and Jo Scott will accept checks made out to Church of the Mountains or Heifer Project and provide you with these cards.

Last year we collected $325.28 which allowed us to give 2 goats ($120 each); a flock of chicks  ($30)  and a trio of rabbits ($60).  Visit the Heifer International Website for more information on this life sustaining program:   Heifer International

Together we have POWER over Hunger & Poverty
Truckee Community Christmas
Coat Drive and Toy Drive
Now through December 15th bring in clean,  gently worn or new coats that will be distributed to local families in need this Christmas Season.  Leave them in the downstairs living room ~ blue "warm coat" bin or outside in the red barrel

November 25th ~ December 14th there will be a Red Collection Barrel for you to collect new,  unwrapped toys for children 2-16 years of age.  This program will provide toys to approximately 500 Truckee children each year!
Emergency Warming Center Updates

Keep this ministry surrounded in positive thoughts & prayers!

We have a lot going on with the final steps of the permitting,   training volunteers and getting prepared to open on the most severe weather nights this winter season!  Target to be able to start opening after the December 7th zoning meeting.
