Alberta Status of Women has created a new grant program for non-profits and charitable organizations that provides seed funding for short-term projects and activities in Alberta to advance gender equality and improve the lives of women and girls in Alberta. Applications will be accepted until December 16, 2016.

CLSA is an Edmonton-based, non-profit organization located in the Central Lions Seniors Recreation Centre. Its mission is to encourage, promote and provide opportunities, through recreation, education and socializing, to enhance the well-being of persons aged 55 and over. 

Under the direction of CLSA's Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be responsible for the provision of overall direction and leadership to the organization, its employees and volunteers. The incumbent will ensure the organization operates in an efficient and effective manner and achieves the goals and objectives outlined in the CLSA strategic plan and associated policies. The Executive Director will be responsible for developing and maintaining an effective working relationship with CLSA members, Board members, City representatives and the leaders of other local seniors' organizations. The Executive Director's responsibilities also include budget preparation, financial and human resource management, issues management, providing governance support to the Board and identifying and pursuing fund-raising opportunities. 

 
This opportunity will be of particular interest to individuals currently in comparable roles but wishing to reduce their work hours. Alternately, CLSA welcomes applicants from candidates who are well experienced in similar, but more junior level, roles and who are ready for the opportunity to grow their skill base.
