Sunday Service November 13, 2016
Empathy/Veterans Day

Every November 11 we celebrate Veteran's Day in honor of our living veterans. This year it marked the 98th anniversary of the armistice that ended World War I. It seems appropriate at this time to consider changes in the conduct of war since then, as well as our record in wars since 1918, and feelings about war and the servicemen and women who defend our country. A member of the fellowship who is a retired army officer will lead us in exploring these issues.
Worship Leader: Fred Seamon
Worship Associate: Rev Russ Menk & Lorraine Sandoval-Vigil

Adult Religious Exploration Program
Sunday, November 20th

On Sunday, November 20, from 12-1 in the Sanctuary, our Adult Religious Exploration program hosts a conversation with Holistic Veterans, a local non- profit focused on finding more healthful, mindful and spiritual paths to deal with issues of suicide, PTSD and sexual assault within the military. The background  of this group is moving and haunting yet the outcome is one of connection and hope. Their story is transformative and shows us that there can be a better way when we're open to new experiences and community. Come share in this amazing experience.

The Hour of Land by Terry Tempest Williams
America's national parks are breathing spaces in a world in which such spaces are steadily disappearing, which is why more than 300 million people visit the parks each year. Part memoir, part natural history, and part social critique, The Hour of Land is a meditation and a manifesto on why wild lands matter to the soul of America.

We are a group of dedicated book folks who meet once a month. Please join us for lively discussions that last about an hour. For more info, call Linda Monk at 724-4089 - or just come and see for yourself.

Fellowship History Project Needs You!

As part of our 50th Anniversary Celebration, we would like to update the historical record of the Fellowship. A previous document chronicled our history from early beginnings to the mid 1980's so t he current effort will focus on the last thirty years.

Please let me know if you have old photos or documents about the Fellowship. I will need help scanning photos and making a slide show.

We also need volunteers to write down the stories which may exist only in people's memories: past ministers, facility changes, special events,  etc.
