October is the National Arts and Humanities Month
A coast-to-coast collective recognition of the importance of culture in America
 
Mayor Stephen Terrell adopted a Proclamation in honor of National Arts and Humanities Month at the City of Allen City Council meeting on October 10th. Celebrate the Arts in Allen with a wide variety of events and activities planned for October.

Enjoy a day filled with Halloween pumpkin craft, face painting, free hayrides, an instrument petting zoo and more at Watters Creek Fall Festival . At 2:00 pm enjoy the performance by Joe McDermott, Children's Singer Songwriter, with the Allen Philharmonic Winds. At 3:30 pm Allen Community Jazz Band performs, and at 7:00 pm Rockestra, an instrumental symphonic rock orchestra.

ATAC Halloween Bash
Saturday, October 21 @ 7:00 pm

The Allen Teen Arts Council Halloween Bash is a live music event for teens in the Allen, Plano, Frisco and McKinney Area. Teens are welcome to perform or just attend. Microphones and PA system provided for the performers. There will be a costume contest!

Fluid Painting: Intermediate Level Workshop

Get hands on experience and professional instruction on creating a compelling composition using fluid painting techniques.  Artist Christine Smith-Atkins will review the basic techniques quickly and then move on to methods to manipulate form, color & composition and how to avoid common mistakes .
