suicide to Hope (s2H) Workshop, December 7, Jackson

TSPN will hold a suicide to Hope (s2H) training session from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM on Wednesday, December 7, at Behavioral Health Initiatives, located at 15 Executive Drive, Jackson, TN 38305.

This one-day training is appropriate for all master's level staff and other long-term caregivers, and is integral to the statewide Zero Suicide initiative. s2H is is a one-day workshop primarily designed
for clinicians and other professional caregivers (case managers are great candidates) who work with persons recently at risk of and currently safe from suicide. It provides tools to help these caregivers and persons with experiences of suicide work together to develop achievable and significant recovery and growth goals. This class would not be appropriate for those who work in crisis services. 7 CEUs are available for an additional $35 via LivingWorks Education.

NOTE: Though not a pre-requisite, it is imperative that participants have already received training in suicide first-aid (usually through ASIST or AMSR courses) or plan to receive such training shortly after this workshop. Suicide to Hope does not teach suicide intervention skills; this is specifically for working with people who are currently safe for now from suicide.  More information about s2H is available on the TSPN website . The training will be open for up to 24 participants in total.

The trainer for this event will be Samantha Nadler, LMSW, TSPN's Middle Tennessee Regional Coordinator.

Please note that lunch will not be provided. Please make arrangements to bring lunch or plan to run to get lunch quickly as the break will be limited to one hour.
