Critical CA Legislation needs your voice this week! NEW
Advocacy is core to PTA's mission to positively impact the lives of all children and families. Several critical bills are before the California Legislature this session, and PTAC has an easy way for you to speak up - with just a click of a button! The CA legislature is back in session will be voting any day now - this August only - on CA education bills through August 31:

The PTSA (Parent Student Teacher Association) supports non staffing needs at Paly through a variety of programs and initiatives, including - classroom technology and materials, challenge success and sources of strength, PSATs, printing and postage for student publications, parent education, staff appreciation, freshman orientation, community service day and so much more.
Our goal is to raise over $190,000 to be spent this school year. Please consider a donation of $260 per student for 2017-2018, any amount is appreciated. No gift is too big or too small.

If you are planning on making an appointment with a professional photographer, it's recommended that you confirm that date as soon as possible, as their slots book quickly. While the yearbook program does not provide a list of recommended photographers, most local Palo Alto studios have extensive experience in taking beautiful senior portraits. College Rep Visits for Seniors (and Juniors, if space is available) NEW
Students must have their teacher's permission one day in advance if missing class. Pick up a form in the C&CC, or download it at admit-class-form-college-and-career-center . Bring the signed form the day of the visit to ensure the absence from class is cleared and marked as an activity rather than a truancy. College visits scheduled for the next two weeks are listed below. Paly girls interested in field hockey wanted!
No experience required. NEW
We are trying to put together a Paly team for the youth field hockey league at Saratoga High School on Saturday mornings, with 7 v 7 games of mixed divisions. There will be 6 league play days as well as an Annual Hockey Gobble Tournament. These are generally club and school teams, but in the hope that Paly will start a team next year, they are welcoming our Paly JV level girls who are interested in field hockey but new to the game. Silicon Valley Boychoir Auditions NEW

Auditions for the 2017-2018 season are held at the choir's rehearsal location near downtown Palo Alto (600 Homer Ave). Open to 2nd-5th grade boys in the fall. High school and middle school boys with choir experience may audition for upper levels. SVB provides a personalized approach to teaching singing, music theory, and sight-singing, and provides flexible scheduling for busy families. In addition to their own winter and spring concerts, SVB has performed for local events including performances with Stanford University, West Bay Opera, Schola Cantorum of Mountain View, and singing the national anthem at sporting events.
