Greenwich United Way Reading Champions
Greenwich United Way Reading Champions , in partnership with the Greenwich Public Schools , is a literacy program pairing Greenwich youth with trained community volunteer tutors in an effort to build fluency skills during the school year. The Greenwich United Way Reading Champions Program Needs Volunteers . Volunteer tutors are trained, no teaching experience is needed, and tutoring opportunities are always available.

Vision and Hearing Testing
Vision screening for grades 1, 4 and 5 will begin next week and continue through October until completed. The Lions Club of Greenwich, a community service organization best known for fighting blindness, will be here to do the screening. The free screening is done by a photographic process from a distance of three feet. The child sits in a chair and gazes toward the machine which records and prints out the result. You will receive a notification if your child does not pass the test.  If your child wears glasses for distance, please make sure they bring them to school.

Hearing screening will also be taking place in the health office. I will be conducting the test and you will receive notification if your child does not pass. Again, the screening is for grades 1, 4 and 5.

If you have questions or concerns, please call me.
