Of particular importance, the ACC would like to highlight,
  • The Framework is explicitly unresolved on whether to allow private retailers to sell cannabis products (similar to how alcohol is currently sold in Alberta) or to restrict retail sales to government-owned retail locations (similar to how alcohol is currently sold in Ontario). The ACC is concerned a public retail model (government cannabis stores) would restrict business opportunities and the potential for economic growth.
  • The Framework does outline public use and public safety guidelines including protocols for law enforcement and provides information on workplace safety in regards to cannabis and other drugs.
  • Chambers and other stakeholders may provide feedback through the online survey or by forwarding letters and submissions to [email protected]
The Alberta Chambers of Commerce is a federation of 126 community-based chambers of commerce representing more than 24,000 businesses.

Time to Get Off the Regulated Rate Option

GOOD NEWS : Over the last 24 months, our variable rate electricity customers have saved 21% compared to what they would have paid if they were still on the government's Regulated Rate Option (RRO) offered through Direct Energy Regulated Services.

FACT : Only 40% of Albertans have switched over to a guaranteed electricity contract (aka left the RRO).

BAD NEWS : 60% of your friends and neighbors are still overpaying for electricity.  Do them a favour and suggest that they switch off of the RRO and sign up with Peace Power.

Peace Power is risk-free to try and there are no signup fees. If you do not like our service you can leave with 10 days' notice, penalty-free.
