How to Create a Sugar Skull Grooming Design

The Sugar Skull image is a holiday tradition in Mexico that celebrates Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead. Traditional Sugar Skulls are made from a mixture of granulated white sugar with added decorations. Loved ones place the decorated skulls on the home "ofrenda" or gravestone to honor the return of a particular spirit.

In this lesson, Dawn Omboy, "the Queen of Color" uses temporary ink to make the raised design fun and bright. If she chooses to change the colors, all she has to do is wash the dog, re-fluff him, and apply new colors.
