March 2014 HCC Faculty Exhibit

"A Momentary Lapse of Reason," featuring work by art faculty members of Hagerstown Community College continues through March 25.

 

Featured artists include the works of Joan Bontempo, Elizabeth Carey, Audra Haddock-Martenot, Kathryn Keely, Benita Keller, Benjamin McAfee, Tom Renner, Janet Siegmann Salter, Ellen Smith, Hench Smith, and Steve Wright. Works on display include paintings, drawings, photography, graphic design prints, pottery and handcrafted jewelry.

 

Exhibition hours are Tuesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
April 2014 "3 Teachers" Exhibit  
Highlighting the photography, paintings and pottery of Todd Geiman, Doris Hoopengardner & Don Viar.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at the Washington County Arts Council, located at 34 South Potomac Street in Hagerstown.

The show will run from March 28 through April 29, 2014.

On Tuesday, May 6, 2014, Washington County Gives will provide local nonprofits with the opportunity to receive money from area residents as well as have the opportunity for matched and bonus dollars throughout the 24-hours to put toward their operating budgets.

 

The Community Foundation is sponsoring this event, along with the Hershey Family Fund, The Alice Virginia and David W. Fletcher Foundation, Inc., the Waltersdorf Family Fund and the Pauline Anderson Foundation. Media sponsors are the Herald-Mail, Leitersburg Cinemas, High Rock Studios, Verstandig Broadcasting (104.7, 101.5, 92.1 & 1380 AM) and WHAG.

Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest Award Ceremony was held at the Washington County Arts Council on March 11, 2014. Fred Nugent represented the Knights.
