Thank you for another successful Big Give S.A.!
The results are in and The Big Give S.A. proved again to be a successful fundraiser! On May 3-4, despite technical difficulties, 499 donations came together and generously gave to SAFCC in support of community cats. Here's the breakdown:
- Most Unique Donors Small Organization- Second Place Prize $2,500
- Hourly Prize from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.- Prize $1,000
- Big Give S.A. donations (May 3-4)- $13,857
- Total Big Give S.A. Campaign- $17,357
We cannot begin to thank you enough for pulling through on this important day and showing your support of the work we do. As an all-volunteer organization, fundraisers like The Big Give S.A.allow us to continue to provide free TNR classes throughout the city; to provide a low subsidized fee of $20 for spay/neuter surgery; to serve as advocates for outdoor and stray cats in the community; to rescue friendly cats and kittens from the street and place them in homes or shelters; and to provide urgent medical care to numerous cats in need.

Americus Diamond pendant winner
Congrats to Melissa, the randomly selected winner of the
Americus Diamond pendant we raffled during our The Big Give SA power hour. Melissa's mom, Maria is heavily involved with SAFCC and made sure to let her daughter know she needed to donate during the online fundraiser. Looks like it paid off! Thanks again to all who donated during The Big Give S.A.

Update on 78216 Grant
Our 78216 grant subsidizing free spay/neuter surgeries will be ending tomorrow, May 31. Thank you to the residents of 78216, our hard-working trappers and to participating clinics Animal Defense League, SA Humane Society, Pet Shotz, and SNAP for helping us finish this grant early! Grant funding was generously provided by PetSmart Charities.

SAFCC at Southern Wildlife Rehab Annual Wildlife Fest
We had another great event at the
Southern Wildlife Rehab's First Annual Wildlife Fest. Many other animal rescues and organizations participated and the San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition was able to spread the word about TNR and the work we do with community cats.

Thanks to the hard work and committment of our foster volunteers, during Petsmart's National Adoption Event during may 13-15, SAFCC completed 10 adoptions during that weekend and will be awarded $250 from PetSmart Charities!

Join us at our second Meet & Greet event for 2016. Our Meet & Greet events provide the opportunity to meet other SAFCC volunteers and supporters in person and to discuss what's new in the world of TNR and community cats. This event will cover Advanced Trapping Techniques. If you have had trouble trapping a tricky cat or are unfamiliar with the types of traps available to catch cats, come by and hear our experienced trapper team share their techniques.
