This empanada recipe from Inn Chef Jim McCarthy, however, takes the symbiotic flavor relationship between apples and, in this case, smoked cheddar to new heights!

This summer, author and food activist Sandor Katz led a workshop on the Farm about all things fermentation. Like Sandor, we are always engaging people (especially kids) with the food we eat and where it comes from. So after Sandor's workshop, it seemed a natural to Educator Jed Norris to try a sauerkraut lesson with his preschoolers in our outdoor classroom. Read more about the workshop and lesson here.
