asn together we thrive!

Message from the Executive Director

More than 300 ASN members and thought leaders in arts and education met in Dallas for our 2016 ASN Annual Conference.

The thought leadership sessions, workshops, and student performances were among the highlights. The new Curbside Coaching feature was so popular that we plan to expand the program next year. Learn more in the Post-conference Press Release.

Our hosts, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and the Dallas Arts District, were ideal settings for our theme: the power of partnerships in arts education. The District's schools, museums, theaters, and performance troupes exemplified this power.

We are thankful for their hospitality, for our generous sponsors, for the many people who organized and worked on the conference, and for the opportunity to meet in such a fabulous environment of culture and education.

As our Dallas hosts know, hosting a conference is a great opportunity to strut your stuff! We're seeking hosts for conferences and events in 2019, 2020, and 2021. See if you have what it takes! View the RFP and fill out the simple form.

Another way to support ASN is to serve on our Board. November 15 is the last chance to nominate yourself for the ASN Board of Directors.  See how now.

This month, we're also pleased to present a member school video. Enjoy the video from Palm Springs Unified School District: Rancho Mirage High School in Rancho Mirage, CA.

ASN continues our efforts to keep you up-to-date on arts education issues, trends, and news you can use in our Know More Webinars program. If you haven't had a chance to watch our three-part series on Arts Advocacy with  Jeff Poulin  from Americans for the Arts, you can watch them on-demand anytime, see below.

As we approach the Holidays, we are thankful for all of our ASN members and supporters, and wish everyone a season full of merry and bright!

Sincerely,
Kristy Callaway

"The power of 'network' was pervasive throughout the entire Dallas Arts District during the conference. The intersection of thought leadership and practical application was truly inspiring!"
 - Dr. Scott M. Rudes, Principal of Booker T. Washington HSPVA

"The Thought Leadership strand encapsulated all we hoped it would. ASN leaders continually look to research, innovation, and new combinations of theories and paradigms to enrich their work."
