The 2017 Artists for Conservation Festival  presented by RE/MAX is returning to Vancouver this November. Rounding out the multi-day event will be live music, films, live birds of prey, live art demos, kids crafts and workshops.

AFC Festival Moves to VanDusen Botanical Garden
Artists for Conservation (AFC) today announced it will kick-off its seventh annual AFC Festival and international art exhibit at the VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver, BC. Presented by RE/MAX, the festival will officially open on November 9, with a preview evening, Grand Opening Reception and four days of art and environmental-themed programming.  Learn more

AFC to Honour Mark Hobson
Internationally recognized Canadian artist Mark Hobson has been chosen to receive the Artists for Conservation's (AFC) top honor: the Simon Combes Conservation Artist Award.  AFC bestows this tribute annually to recognize artist members for their dedication to the conservation cause and outstanding artistic achievement.   Learn more

AFC Artists and Royal Geographic Society Raises Funds for Wildlife
On October 12 through 15, Several AFC are donating artwork to support to a major conservation fundraiser with the Royal Geographic Society in the UK. The Passing of Legendary Artist & Conservationist, David Shepherd 
With deep sadness, we share with you the passing of fellow artist and conservationist, David Shepherd. An international champion of the conservation movement, and a legendary wildlife artist, David leaves a legacy of support for African wildlife. He also inspired hundreds of professional artists around the world to also take up the cause, through the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and the annual DSWF Wildlife Artist of the Year Award .  David was the first recipient of AFC's highest award - the Simon Combes Conservation Artist Award  Learn more  
 
Kathleen Sheard Sculpts for Sea Turtles
Wildlife Glass Artist, Kathleen Sheard, has undertaken the Cycle of Life: Sea Turtle Glass Sculpture - Environmental Art Education Project to raise awareness of and educate people to the dangers to sea turtles. The project includes an installation of over 60 kiln-formed glass pieces depicting life-size sea turtles and hatchlings along with elements that endanger them.   Learn more 
 
Becci Crowe Elected to the Board of Directors of The Jane Goodall Institute
AFC member Becci Crowe will be joining a prestigious group traveling to Vienna, VA in October as a newly elected member of the Board of Directors of The Jane Goodall Institute (JGI). The Jane Goodall Institute was founded by Dr. Jane Goodall 40 years ago following her ground breaking years of research with Chimpanzees at Gombe National Park.   Learn more  
 
Banovich Establishes $100K Conservation Award
AFC Signature Member, John Banovich has established a new major award through the Banovich Wildscapes Foundation - the Award for Conservation Excellence (ACE). The purpose of the award is to recognize the exceptional contributions made by some of the world's leading conservationists and is intended to become the most significant award in the conservation arena.   Learn more
