OASIS women in leadership program
|

The Objective Analysis of Self and Institution Seminar, known as OASIS, is a leadership and professional development program designed to accelerate the career development and advancement of academic women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics through a combination of workshops, networking, mentoring and individual coaching. The program aims to increase retention of women in these fields by preparing women for leadership positions. We would like to congratulate

rofessor of Epidemiology, and Co-Leader, Cancer Prevention and Control Program, Rutgers, Cancer Institute of New Jersey, Population Science was appointed as a standing member of the National Institute of Health (NIH) Cancer, Heart, and Sleep Epidemiology Panel B Study (CHSB) (2016-2020).

The New Jersey State Cancer Registry (NJSCR) was awarded the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR) Gold Certification at the Annual NAACCR conference June, 2016 in St. Louis, Missouri. Nan Stroup, PhD, Director and Stephanie Hill, MPH, CTR, Program Manager, accepted the award on behalf of NJSCR.

Aishwarya Kulkarni, MPH, won first place for her student presentation at the June 2016 NAACCR conference on “Incidence of Triple Negative Breast Cancer in New Jersey, 2008-2013.” This study was led by Adana Llanos, PhD, MPH in collaboration with Nan Stroup, PhD (Ms. Kulkarni’s faculty advisor) and staff at the NJSCR.

Adana Llanos, PhD, MPH,
received the Buckeye Under 40 Award. This award recognizes young Ohio State University (OSU) alumni who have made significant contributions in their respective fields. The award is given by the Black Alumni Society at OSU with the intent of highlighting young talent doing remarkable things.

Director of the Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center at the Baylor College of Medicine who will speak about transnational research- the intersection of clinical oncology and cancer control.
