We Need Your Help!
We are asking all parents to contact the state legislature in getting the budget passed so that our students will be eligible for the potential of an additional $20 million in EITC funds. Please contact your legislators and let them know that you depend on the EITC and OSTC programs. This money is currently sitting in the budget, and getting the budget passed would be a huge benefit for all!

Counseling & College Services
We have implemented an Advisory class for all students.
Monday, October 16th begins the Advisory class for Juniors. All students must report to Advisory class during the first 30 minutes of the lunch period. Please view complete
Advisory schedule with room assignments. This schedule is also posted on the main floor bulletin board.

AP Tests:
The Collegeboard has announced the cost of the 2018 AP tests at $94 per test. Every student that has elected to take an AP class is required to take the AP exam in May of 2018, as outlined in the Program of Study.
When making a payment please make all checks payable to Saint Basil Academy. If you wish to pay by credit card, please pay on the
SBA website. SBA will charge $94 per exam. We ask that all payments be made by
October 31, 2017.

Financial Aid Presentation:
It's never too early to start planning for a college education for our children. Please join us on
Wednesday, November 15th at 7 pm in our Auditorium at Saint Basil Academy for the following presentation:

All Students:
On Thursday, October 19, we will participate in our annual PINK Day activity. This will also acknowledge the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness. We ask that every student wear a PINK shirt over their uniform. If your daughter did not purchase a 2017 PINK Day shirt from our school store, she can wear any PINK shirt and donate $5.00. All proceeds from the sale of PINK day shirts and donations will be given to both Bringing Hope Home and Metavivor.org. Both organizations help individuals and families fighting cancer.

Fall Drama
Saint Basil Academy Drama Club will be presenting "
The Drama of Drama"
, a collection of 3 plays which concentrate on the Drama that ensues in the high school theatrical world.
Performances will be held Friday, November 10th and Saturday, November 11th at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $10/adults, $8/Seniors & Students and are available at the door.
Please come out and enjoy a full night of theater!
Bring a canned good to donate and receive $1.00 off the ticket price!

The TFT Trip websites are live for the England Traveler Trip and Costa Rica Service Adventure Trip! Please check out the links for more information about each trip.

The Travel for Teens parent meeting for both trips originally scheduled for Tuesday, October 17th, has been rescheduled for next week. The new date will be announced shortly in the Daily Announcements on the SBA website and in next week's Weekly Updates.

10 Week Club
It is not too late to return your 10 week club tickets. The first drawing was last week. Your tickets are good for all ten weeks of the drawing.
Volunteering
Please return the yellow volunteer forms that were handed out at Back to School night.
The volunteer form is also available on the SBA website. We are asking that each family volunteer for at least 2 events this year. A list of activities is on our webpage. There are student related events, Parents' Club events and Development events. We have amazing people in place in Admissions, Development and Leadership. Let's give them all the help we can.

Pawprints School Store
Start your Christmas shopping now at SBA's school store! We have many popular items!
The school store is taking orders for SBA personalized embroidered blankets. One corner of the blanket will have our School Shield. Another corner will have your daughter's first and last name, and "Class of 2018, 2019, 2020 or 2021." The price is $35.00.
We will be taking orders for the next two weeks. Please place your order by November 4th.
