Children and Students - Our Hopeful Future!

The following are pictures celebrating the great
and transforming gifts of Crossover with brief reflections

From parent's point of view:

It's amazing to see what your child can do. I was in awe of Beth as she traversed that rope.  It definitely was a great opportunity to connect with my daughter and share some meaningful time together -- I was glad we had a chance to do the blessing in the woods.  I'm grateful she had the chance to meet and connect with other kids from church.

Drew went to Crossover unsure about middle school and had
many worries about a new school but he left with "courage"
and the assurance he was ready.

Spending quiet, intentional time with other families who dedicated time, on one of the craziest weekends of the year, to prepare their children to transition was a blessing.

I was reassured that other parents were as anxious as I was but knowing we are holding each other up for a "middle school blessing" was a quiet reassurance I carried with me on the first day of sixth grade.

I enjoyed the Crossover retreat and being able to connect with Jordan in a way that was meaningful and intentional.  We didn't have to worry about places to be, things to do, or any other distractions that come with our day-to-day life.

I liked the connection with other middle-school parents and hearing their thoughts on this transition in our children's and our lives.

Crossover was a unique experience that brought me closer to the other campers, nature, and my daughter, Emma. I loved the low ropes course with the team building exercises. I learned a little bit about myself in the participation of those games. Cathy was wonderful and I especially enjoyed her yoga exercises and walks through the camp.

The night time walk was especially peaceful and different. The high ropes course was challenging and loved seeing the participants overcome their fears and the sheer enjoyment and feeling of accomplishment.

High Ropes with Zip Line Blessing -

Every student made it  through  the high ropes challenge.

Everyone received a group prayer of blessing
on  the zip line through the forest!

For our children and students, locally and around the world...

As you start a new school year, may you be blessed with the gift of friends who will accept you for who you are and with whom you can laugh
and learn, share and play, and stretch and grow.

May you meet teachers, mentors, and coaches who celebrate you as the unique individual that God created you to be.
May they encourage you  to explore your gifts and passions,
may they motivate you to do your best,
and may they walk beside you through triumphs as well as challenges.

May you always remember that you are a beloved child of God.

Living the Blessing...every day, everywhere with everyone!
