Because of you, Musical Theatre West has survived 64 years, through some tough economic times, and has grown into one of the most respected regional theater companies in the area. We continue to entertain over 60,000 patrons a year from some 100 Southern California communities.
Since each MTW production is produced by us from the ground up, on this Giving Tuesday, we'd like to invite you to join us in "producing a show." A typical production rehearses for 3 weeks and performs for 3 weeks, and the average cost is $600,000.
Ticket sales cover between 80% and 90% of our production costs, but the remaining 10%-20% is generated through donations and sponsorships. MTW receives no federal funding and very minimal city and county funding. We rely on the generosity of our donors to maintain the high quality of our productions that you have come to expect from us.
HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP
We'd like to invite you to help us produce a show! Below are items that you can help fund. Each donation helps fund that category for one show and you can choose which show you'd like to help produce.
- $15 - A Parking Pass for One Actor
- $25 - A Pair of Shoes for an Actor
- $50 - A Wig for an Actor
- $75 - A Hotel Night for an Out-of-Town Actor
- $100 - A Costume for an Actor
- $200 - Tuning of the Rehearsal Piano
- $300 - A Cast Dinner during Tech Week
- $500 - Snacks for the Actors during Rehearsal
- $1,000 - Sponsors a Non-Union Actor
- $1,500 - Sponsors an Orchestra Member
- $2,000 - Props
- $3,000 - Lighting Equipment Rental
- $4,500 - Sponsors a Union Actor
- $6,000 - Sound Equipment Rental
- $10,000 - Costume Rental
- $20,000 - Set Rental
Our year end goal is to raise $50,000 which would underwrite one production.
