November 2016 Newsletter
From the director...
Orange County libraries are thriving and here in Cornwall it's no different.  Last week, the Cornwall Public Library surpassed the 10,000 member mark.  In September alone, the library issued 93 new cards.  In a service area that encompasses 16,841 people, this outreach is impressive. The impact we have on Cornwall is great.  "Our community is the heart of our library and it warms ours to know that we are able to serve so many.  We have strong relationships with our local teachers and schools and that's enabled us to collaborate on behalf of students and their families," says library director, Mary Lou Carolan.  "Teachers and parents have been instrumental in encouraging their kids to get library cards so they can have access to all we offer both on-site, and 24/7 via our on-line catalogue, research and study tools."

But it's not just the kids we serve well, our teens can find a solid and ever changing collection of graphic novels as well as paid and volunteer job opportunities; our adults find current best sellers are available on our shelves, or quickly, through our free inter-library loan service that delivers to us 5 days a week; and our seniors take advantage of the social and educational programming we offer.  We are excited to offer a vast collection of free, downloadable eBooks, and coming November 1st - access to all for the popular Rosetta Stone language learning courses.  If you don't see what you want on our shelves or in our on-line catalog, ask our knowledgeable staff!  Thanks for being one of the valuable 10,000 members we serve.
