The Walnut Grove community is heartbroken to hear of all the devastation and loss due to the numerous fires in the Santa Rosa and surrounding areas.
We know there are many families here at WG who know people in these areas, and we want to let you know we are thinking about everyone and wishing you solace during this difficult time.

Paws to Read
Paws to Read Comes to the Walnut Grove Library
Beginning this month and through the school year, the Walnut Grove Library is thrilled to host the Paws to Read Program provided by Pleasanton's own Valley Humane Society. The Paws to Read program will pair selected 1st and 2nd grade readers with trained "listening" dogs here in our very own library. These trained dogs provide a safe, non-judgmental presence for readers.
"Recent studies performed by research teams at U.C. Davis and Tufts University reveal that children who read aloud to therapy dogs (or shelter cats) on a regular basis demonstrate dramatic improvement in their reading skills".*
Welcome Paws to Read! We are thrilled to have you join us.
