Dear Holy Rosary Families,

It was my greatest joy to meet and greet our families at Back to School Night.  Thank you for giving your children the gift of a Catholic education.  I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of your child's academic and faith journey this year.  My heart is full and I am so excited.

We had a momentous occasion on Monday as we experienced the 2017 solar eclipse.  In Hebrews 11:1, faith is the reality of what we hope for, the proof of what we don't see .  The solar eclipse is God's reminder that we act not only on what we see, but also what we know by faith.  At Back to School night I shared that we must embrace the changes.  We must celebrate each other, share our hopes and delight in our joys.  It is our responsibility to ensure that Holy Rosary continues to grow and flourish not only for your children, but for the generations that are coming.

I invite you to join us at the Friday, August 25th 8:00 a.m. Mass. The Gospel MT 22:34-40 teaches us that the greatest commandment is to love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.  And the second greatest is to love your neighbor as yourself.  As we proceed with the school year, I pray that we continue to center ourselves with Christ and remember that we are doing His work.

In Partnership,
Mrs. Fely Fajardo
Interim Principal

Are Catholics Christians? - Part 1
This is a question I have been asked by a number of people throughout my years as a priest. The quick answer is "yes, Catholics are Christians." However, there are many Catholics and others who do not realize this. In fact, I have heard a number of Catholics say, "I'm not a Christian, I'm a Catholic;" or some Catholics who have left Catholicism will say, "I used to be a Catholic, but now I'm Christian." Both statements are incorrect and misleading, although not purposely. I believe the confusion comes, at least partly, because many people do not know the history of Christianity, and others simply do not understand the meanings of the words "Catholic" and "Christian" or how they came about.

Los Católicos ¿Son Cristianos? - Parte 1
