Tara Francis, a Halifax County native and Halifax County High School graduate, contributes her career in part to Southside Virginia Community College.  Since graduating from SVCC's Practical Nursing program in 2002, she has been employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital.

Tara still thoroughly enjoys her chosen profession and made the decision to return to SVCC to complete her Associate of Applied Science in Nursing to help further her career.   She is on schedule to complete the program in the spring of 2018.

Citing not only the convenience  of being able to obtain her education close to home, Tara also enjoys the learning atmosphere at SVCC.  "I think this is a wonderful place to earn your degree. The staff is  wonderful, helpful and friendly.  Through my training at SVCC, I obtained a good, steady job that I have been employed at for fifteen years!"
