Hurricane Relief
Message From GSUSA
GSUSA has  chosen to lift fundraising restrictions to enable girls to raise money for recovery efforts at the councils impacted by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.
Fundraising efforts for all designated councils are being undertaken with the sole intention to provide impacted girls with membership scholarships. Such scholarships typically cover dues, uniforms, credentials (i.e., insignia worn on uniforms), and other Girl Scout materials. To contribute to these efforts, please visit the
GSUSA Disaster Relief website.  You can give to the fund for all affected councils, which GSUSA will distribute based on need as defined by impacted membership, or you can choose a specific council.

Twin Falls: December 2nd
8:50am-3:30pm
St. Edward's Church
Join us for an exciting day of fun, networking and camaraderie while you participate in learning opportunities that will enhance your skills and knowledge and assist you in building girls of courage, confidence and character. This event is a great chance for leaders to do something for themselves while still impacting their work with girls. Not a troop leader?  No problem. This is a great event for any adult in Girl Scouts to receive enrichment trainings and learn something new. Registration is required and closes November 4th, so register now!

Donation to Troop/Pass Through
Is there a group or organization that wants to donate to your troop? Please use the Donation to Troop Form. This form is used to track monetary donations to troops. The donation is turned in to the Council office for tracking so we may send a tax deductible letter. The troop will receive the total amount that was turned into Council. Complete this form and return it to the Boise Council office at least two weeks prior to your anticipated date of receiving your check.

Feature Article:
A Message from  Your Program Team
Knowing Our History and Looking Forward
Greetings from the Program Department. November brings new opportunities for our girls, but I didn't want to forget about the special day that just happened, October 31- Founder's Day and the 153rd birthday of Juliette Gordon Low, who started the Girl Scout Movement in 1912. It's fitting that Juliette's birthday coincides with the most creative, imaginative, and fun day of the year. She was a real visionary: someone who dreamed about what was possible and took action to bring her vision to life.

Juliette started the Girl Scout Movement before many women were able to own property, vote, or even work outside the home.  She envisioned a movement that would inspire girls to believe in their abilities, develop leadership skills, and gain the courage, confidence, and character to make their world a better place.

In honor of this, I would like to share a trip back in time, to the early 1900's.  The Golden Eaglet is a short video, you can enjoy with your girls, to see how Girl Scouts was already changing things for girls in a big way.  If you would like to know how you could help make a change with today's girls, contact [email protected].  We are looking for adults to help with STEM activities, Outdoor Club mentors, Gold Award Committee Members, Juliette mentors, and more. These are all roles that can make a large, positive impact, but with a minimal time commitment.
NEW Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Gold Award Scholarship Program
Earning the Girl Scout Gold Award qualifies a girl to apply for the Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Gold Award Scholarship.  This scholarship is awarded based on achievement in Girl Scouting, academics, leadership and service. This award is for girls that have earned the Gold Award and are graduating from high school this spring.  For more information and application, please click  here.

NEW Program Activity/Event Financial Assistance
We are committed to ensuring all girls have the opportunity to participate in Girl Scouts. In order to remove financial barriers that may interfere, we offer limited funds to help members who would be unable to join in Girl Scout activities* without financial support from the council.  Financial assistance is not a primary source of funding for members or troops. Troops are encouraged to facilitate girl-led financial planning for their activities. However, we understand that sometimes assistance is needed.  Financial assistance is based on need and may cover anywhere between 20% and 80% of the program fee. To apply for financial aid for council programming events and activities visit  here  and click on the "Activity Financial Aid" section (picture above) or contact [email protected] for application.
Note: this is for council program events and activities only.  Service Unit or troop events are not included.
