Joyeux Noël is a 2005 film about the World War I Christmas truce of December, 1914, depicted through the eyes of French, British, and German soldiers. The film will be in French with English subtitles. Popcorn will be served. There will be a discussion after the film.

FRAME
Five members of the Alliance Française de Hartford offered their French skills in the capacity of making French museum curators feel at home while at a symposium hosted by the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford. Audrey Fay, Pamela Moore, Christi Moraga, Veronica Vaida and Robert Yeager attended receptions on the evenings of October 16 and 18 in the Morgan Hall and the Avery Court. Following is a description of the organization's mission:
'French American Museum Exchange (FRAME) is a consortium of 30 major museums in France and North America that promotes cultural exchange in the context of museum collaborations. FRAME fosters partnerships among its member museums to develop innovative exhibitions, educational and public programs, and professional exchanges among museum staff, and maintains a bi-lingual website to reach global audiences

By the end of this course, you will be able to discuss Paris and France beyond the sea (la France d'outre-mer); talk about getting around a city; describe your family, express personal relationships, indicate ownership, talk about the weather, clothes, colors, what we purchase, prices, point out people and things, numbers from 60 and beyond, make comparisons, talk about your home and finances.
You will be able to use possessive adjectives, possession with de, the expression être à, the irregular verb FAIRE, stem changing verbs ACHETER, PRÉFÉRER, PAYER, the interrogative adjective quel, the demonstrative adjective ce, adjectives placed before nouns, prepositions of location, comparatives, superlatives, and questions with inversions.

By the end of this course, you should be able to construct a correct sentence by complying with the dispute agreements and using it in different situations. Emphasis will be placed on past participles and the role of direct object complement in some of their agreements with the subject. Particular attention will also be given to the various complement and simple and complex sentences. It will be the same for the formation of
the infinitive in a sentence; Which will inevitably lead us to be interested in semi-auxiliaries such aller, devoir, pouvoir, vouloir...... and reviewing to the prepositions. These chapters will be completed by a work on conjugation of the verbs essentially and occasionally reflexive and on the impersonal verbs. The work of enriching the vocabulary will be maintained at the same pace as in previous sessions. The ultimate goal of this course is to promote student expression.

Les Présidents et le Septième Art
Les présidents français au cinéma et à la télévision La filmographie dédiée aux locataires de l'Élysée n'est pas aussi prolifique celle consacrée à leurs homologues de la Maison-Blanche, mais les réalisateurs français ont abordé cette question sous des angles qui n'ont rien à envier à ceux retenus par leurs confrères américains. De grands cinéastes comme Henri Verneuil, Francis Girod, Raymond Depardon, Michel Royer, Lionel Delplanque, Bernard Stora, Christian Vincent... ont braqué leur zoom sur un président français. À l'écran, les chefs d'État français ont été incarnés par des acteurs aussi talentueux que Jean Gabin, Michel Bouquet, Bernard Farcy, Philippe Magnan, Jean d'Ormesson, Jean-Louis Trintignant...
