I feel like I should pinch myself. On Nov 18, 2017 I'll be live on stage at TedXHickory. My topic is "Pay Attention to The Whisper - Are You Listening?" where I'll be sharing my own personal story to both teach and inspire the audience to move to the next level. Life really is all about finding our purpose. Yet finding our purpose can be tricky. Our purpose ignites our passion and drives us to get to the next level in life. My TEDxHickory presentation is about the need to connect individuals with our purpose, passion and ideas. It’s about how to get to what’s next in our life and implementing steps to get there (via personal vision statements). We’re here to learn and grow, and my “Pay Attention to The Whisper - Are You Listening?” presentation is a great tool to get to what’s next and connect individuals with their passion.
I'll share my video with you in the next newsletter. It's a dream come true (thanks to my personal vision).
“What day is it?” asked Pooh.
"It’s today,” squeaked Piglet.
"My favourite day,” said Pooh. – A A Milne
A lovely mindfulness quote and reminder for us to take pleasure in
every day and treat it as our favourite.
Wellness and Wisdom
Lifelong Education · Stunning Location · Restorative Activities · Passionate Learning. This sums up my trip 2 weeks ago, I was in Ireland for a Mindfulness Program and everything about it was spectacular.
Mindfulness dates back to 400 BC but has becomes a buzzword in the Western world recently. But it's much more than just a buzzword, it's the answer to emotional freedom. Google, Intel, GE and other corporations have adopted mindfulness leadership, wellness and performance strategy. So, what exactly is mindfulness? Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, professor emeritus of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, has the most widely-used definitions of mindfulness "paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment and non-judgmentally.”
I've started incorporating mindfulness training in the workplace as one of my services. Stay tuned for more on this.
Here's what I've learned through mindfulness:
Make time each day to connect with your breath.
Find time each day to acknowledge the beauty in your life.
Practice genuine self-compassion.
I hope whatever is happening in your life you are fully present and engaged in what you are doing.
