GETTING TO WAINWRIGHT
New bus routes, drop off zone for Wainwright kids Monday
With the move to Wainwright comes new bus routes and schedules for some families. (Nothing changes for Whittier students.)  To receive bus transportation, a student must live more than 1 mile from their neighborhood school. With the move to Wainwright, this means some fourth, fifth and sixth-graders who previously took the bus might need to walk or be dropped off, and others who were dropped off might have a nearby bus stop.

Not sure if you are in the busing zone? Want to double-check your stop? The district's Transportation Services webpage provides an easy Bus Stop Lookup tool where you can input your address and find out whether you're within the busing area, and where your nearest stop is.

Note about the drop-off/pick-up location at Whittier for Wainwright bus riders: To avoid traffic congestion and confusion, the Bus 34 Wainwright stop at Whittier will pick up and drop off students in front of the elementary school at the intersection of Alameda and Elm Tree Lane SW, not in the Whittier bus drop off zone.

Help make drop-offs run smoothly
If you're planning to drive your child to Wainwright on Monday or any other day, please enter the campus from Alameda Avenue and stay to the right through the drop-off zone. When leaving, please only turn right onto Alameda. Parent drop-off is not allowed in the bus drop-off zone, accessed through the United Methodist parking lot.

SMILE AT YOUR CROSSING GUARD
For the safety of our walking students, crossing guards will be posted at Regents and Alameda, and also in front of the school.

ACTIVITY BUS PICK UP AND DROP OFF
After school, students who take the bus to Gray Middle School for sports activities will now catch the bus from Wainwright and be returned to Wainwright. On the way back, there will also be a courtesy stop at Whittier.

Safety note: Wainwright visitors will need to bring ID
As part of the new building's security measures, parents and other visitors will need to present their driver's license or state identification card at the front door before being let into the building.

SNEAK PEEK TOUR OPPORTUNITIES FOR WAINWRIGHT FAMILIES
Wainwright families who want a sneak peek can take advantage of two guided tour opportunities during this weekend's move-in, one on Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., and another on Sunday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. There will also be a short opportunity on Monday at 8 a.m. after students are dropped off. If interested, meet at the front door of the school by the tour start time.

SAVE THE DATE AND CELEBRATE
Alumni, community members and the general public are invited to tour the new Wainwright Intermediate School during the grand opening celebration at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
