A new garden for Ceres!
BIG NEWS

Just before the fires diverted our attention, we broke ground on a new garden at our Santa Rosa kitchen. Having a garden to complement our programming in Santa Rosa was part of our original vision for this site, and we're excited to see work underway.

Trenching for irrigation happened in early October. Leah Daniels of LifeCycle Landscapes and Tom LeBlanc & Nate Chaput of Perennial Abundance Permaculture generously volunteered to help with the irrigation design and installation.

We're grateful to the garden's founding donors:
Terry and Joanne Dale (long-time Sebastopol garden supporters),
and in-kind donors  Pace Supply and  Harmony Farm Supply & Nursery

You can help get the garden ready for planting!
Join us for a work party at the site on November 11, from 10 - 4 pm.  We will be doing a lot of sheet mulching on this day and planting of cover crop, potentially shaping up the beds too. Also needed are two people with trucks who can help transport tools to and from our Sebastopol garden.

Folks volunteering should come prepared with a water bottle and sun protection and ready to move their bodies!  We will have work available for all different abilities, though you'll need to be able to lift, bend, carry and move dirt and compost around the site.

If you can help, please contact Samantha Wyman, Program Assistant & Volunteer Coordinator at 707.829.5833 x204  or email her [email protected]

With your help, our Santa Rosa garden will provide training opportunities for youth, and organic produce for client meals prepared in Santa Rosa.
