Did you know?
Thanks to YOU we raised the following for our school:

October Dairy Queen Night -

Book Fair (goes toward DC trips) - $1,651.41

Operation Christmas Child
As part of our mission of service, St. Anthony participates in a wonderful program called Operation Christmas Child. Students and families collect items to wrap and send to Operation Christmas Child. We need to fill boxes for a variety of ages. The categories are: Boy: ages 2-4, 5-9 or 10-14 and Girl: ages 2-4, 5-9 or 10-14. Watch this short video to learn what to do.

Consider purchasing a plastic shoe box with cover (about $1 to purchase), or use a cardboard shoebox. Some boxes are available at school as well. If you are sending in a cardboard box, please wrap the box and the cover separately. We are only able to accept pre-paid shipping labels which allow you to track your shoebox and maybe hear back from your gift recipient someday. Shipping cost is $9/box.

To make this meaningful for the children, we would like each child to work towards earning money and items for the boxes (donate their allowance, chore/job money).

Starting on Thursday, November 2, students will assemble the boxes. If you are willing to help on this day or with your child's class, please let your child's teacher know. The boxes will be delivered to the collection site (Divine Redeemer Church in Hartland) after they are blessed at the November 15 school Mass.

DO NOT INCLUDE: Used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives or military figures; toothpaste; chocolate or food; candy; liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans.

Please remember, we need:
  • Pre-paid printed shipping labels for each box ($9/box)
  • Boxes and items by November 2
  • Volunteers to help check boxes

3. For me to be happier and more content, I must...
4. Do I have enough to look forward to on a weekly, and monthly basis?

October 30, 2017
From the Desk of Ellen Knippel, Principal

Dear Parents,

Well, I do believe that Fall is finally here! Please be sure to send jackets (and hats and mittens) each day. Unless the weather is below zero, we go outside every day. We have already had kids request to stay inside for recess because it is "too cold"!

I will be hosting a Knippel Koffee this Wednesday after the All Saints Day Mass. Topics that have been suggested are Homework and Teaching Responsibility. The Koffees usually last between 45 minutes and an hour (feel free to come and go as you are able). As mentioned last week, we will primarily gear this Koffee to Middle School but everyone is invited.

As we celebrate All Saints and All Souls Day, blessings to all who have lost loved ones this year.

Mrs. Ellen Knippel

The money collected from the candy buy back will go into the Peru fund for the children's orphanage. Have your kids pick out their favorites and give the rest to us! We will get the candy to Midwest Dental (See flyer).

This service activity is voluntary; however, most students and families do choose to participate. New to OCC? Check out the margin on the left for details on what this service project entails.
