Dewey Park, one mile of the Colorado River Corridor, preserved forever!
In early November, through collaboration and partnership, we celebrated EVLT's newest conservation easement, Dewey Park. This beautiful 38-acre property with 6,000 feet of Colorado River frontage is the scenic gateway to the Upper Colorado River. Not only visible from the Colorado River Road, it can also be seen from nearby public lands. Wildlife species such as bald eagles, osprey, great blue herons, and songbirds rely on this undeveloped land for habitat. Although there is not public access to this property, the river flows right through it and the perpetual conservation easement ensures that development will never encroach on this scenic stretch of river.

Thank you, Karl Berger and Coyote River Ranch, for hosting and celebrating the Dewey Park Conservation Easement closing! Jeannie McQueenie, several Eagle County Open Space Committee and Eagle Valley Land Trust Board members and other community partners enjoy the festivities.
