Tim Meyers Ordination

On Saturday, December 17 our former seminarian, Tim Meyers will be ordained to the Holy Order of Priests in North Carolina. You may remember what a gift Tim was to our parish during his time at Holy Comforter. Youth Group Update
Dec. 11 - Youth Group in Rodman. EPIC (Episcopal Parents in Community) in McGill Hall. Combined dinner 5-6:30 p.m.

Dec. 18 - Youth Caroling Party. Meet at church at 4 p.m. We will visit some of our parishioners in the Vienna area and sing Christmas carols. Dinner and pickup at the McMullin's house.

More details about the Caroling Party to follow. We will have a "white elephant" gift exchange with a limit of $10 (or less) per person. The idea is to share and have fun-not break the bank!

Friday, Dec. 16, 6:30-8:30 p.m. 
Need a night to finish up shopping or enjoy some quiet during the busy holiday rush? Feel free to drop your child off for an evening of dinner, crafts, and a holiday movie. RSVP to Kristen Long by Dec. 14 with the name and age of your child. A $5 donation per child is requested for dinner expenses.

Saturday, Dec. 24, 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.  
Please contact Kristen Long to let her know if your child is interested in portraying a lead character in the Living Creche. We will need Mary, Joseph, the Angel of the Lord, and the Three Wise Men. Costumes will be available for shepherds, animals, and angels prior to the services in McGill Hall. Come early to get your costume!

Voce Chamber Singers Concert
Sunday, Dec. 18; 4 p.m., Holy Comforter 
Voce joins forces with the players of Ensemble Gaudior, a period-instrument ensemble based in Oakton, to present one of the true gems of the Christmas repertoire: the exquisite Messe de Minuit (Midnight Mass) by the French baroque composer, Marc-Antoine Charpentier. The first half of the program offers seasonal a cappella works by composers from the 16th century to the present, and the concert closes with a festive audience sing-along accompanied by baroque orchestra. Please join us!

Gingerbread Extravaganza and Potluck Dinner 
Monday, Dec.19, 5:30-7 p.m.  
Join us for a fun evening of fellowship, dinner, and decorating gingerbread houses! We will supply a pre-constructed gingerbread house and all the decorating supplies. You supply a dinner item to share (dessert and beverages will be provided). A $10 contribution per family is requested to cover the cost of supplies. Childcare will be provided. Questions?
