President's Report
Final report on 2016 goals, looking ahead to 2017
|
Perhaps it’s hard to believe the new year is less than 30 days away, but as we know, time certainly flies in the PR world. In this month’s Points to Ponder video, I recap how we measured against our 2016 goals, as well as a key learning for one of our events we’ll be hosting in 2017.
We also welcome Jean Peat, APR as chapter president next year, as well as our new board of directors who will continue the current momentum and success of the chapter. Thank you in advance for giving her the same incredible support you have provided me, as it has been a privilege serving as your president the past two years; certainly many valuable experiences I’ll be proud to take with me. In this season of thankfulness, I would be remiss if I didn’t further applaud your membership and support of the chapter. The goals we’ve accomplished, which help to continue our chapter operations, would not have been possible without you; our incredible members and guests. It’s truly a collective effort as we support and strengthen each other and our careers.
But, we’re certainly not resting or stopping as the year comes to a close. Here is the current schedule of events during the next three months:
Visit us on our social channels (top of newsletter) for the latest updates as we strive to be the professional resource and advocate for Kansas City’s PR and Communications community. Thank you again for all that you do, have a great holiday season, and a very prosperous 2017!

We all went through it – the huge leap from college to career. In the PR world, it’s an even larger leap. Should you move? If so, where? Do you want to pursue an agency or in-house position? What’s the difference, anyway? What do all of the different PR titles mean? What do they require? How should you tailor your resume to land your dream job? But first, what is your dream job? Who should you network with, and how? If only the classroom taught you how to break into this whole “real world” thing! More
