In April 2016, Mr. Bruce Capuano, Vice President of Spectral Systems, LLC, engaged MTEC to solve issues with the company's product rejection rates. MTEC Senior Project Engineer, Phil vanOss stepped in to help with Lean Six Sigma and 5S implementation. Fuzehub, a not-for-profit organization responsible for assisting small to medium manufacturing companies (SMEs) in the New York State by matching them with technical and business resources, has launched the Jeff Lawrence Manufacturing Innovation Fund. The Manufacturing Innovation Fund, consisting of $1 million annually for five years, supports a set of activities designed to spur technology development and commercialization across New York State. On November 9, MTEC and Fuzehub teamed up with the Hudson Valley Economic Development Council (HVEDC) and the Hudson Valley AgriBusiness Development Corporation (HVADC) to host the Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Solutions Forum. Curriculum - provided by the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC), a national training, assessment, and certification system - is based on industry-defined and federally-endorsed standards.
In this workshop you will learn the concepts of continuous improvement and the methods used to identify and prioritize problem areas. You will use some of the basic tools used to benchmark, develop and implement quality and productivity improvements. Some topics include: establishing a baseline, identifying and prioritizing problems, and application of Qualitative and Quantitative Analytical Tools.
