ROOM CHANGE: Family Room Lower Level
Ever wonder why a certain test might be crucial for your bird, or how a veterinarian goes about trying to figure out a problem?  In sickness and in health, our birds deserve a veterinarian that understands them.   We're so grateful that Dr. Gregory Costanzo from Stahl Exotic Veterinary Services has agreed to join us again.  He's a really good speaker!  We look forward to being together in December and celebrating another year of our combined good works for parrots.
Some of Our Many Adoptable Birds
Diego, Greenwing Macaw
This handsome guy came into the Phoenix Landing program in 2004, and is now ready for his next good family. Diego currently shares a home with a blue and gold macaw friend, Zazzoo, and he'd be especially happy if Zazzoo could come too. Large macaws, especially males, are not for everyone. Phoenix Landing is here to help Diego's new family with the information needed for long-term success!
Emerald Louise AKA "Emmy"
Emmy is a blue front Amazon, age unknown. She came with a group of birds from a Maryland shelter last year, and they weren't in good shape. Emmy is now flourishing in her foster home, and appreciates head skritches and good food.  This sweet bird is now ready for an engaging and devoted home.
Mya, Quaker
Adorable, yes? Quakers are just the right size for most homes. Once they are away from their cages, they can be funny and very interested in participating in the family activities. They have little squawky voices that are quite endearing.
Sinbad, Yellow Nape Amazon
This beautiful Amazon is 27 years old, and has many decades ahead of him.  He loves to chow down on fruit, green beans and other good foods.  He has a curious nature and large vocabulary.   Since Amazons tend to pick their people - maybe Sinbad will pick you?  He will be at our December Springfield, VA event.  He might like to meet you!
Continuing Great Gratitude
Together we continue to make a big difference for parrots - not only by finding them new homes and all that is required to make that happen - but also through our continued dedication to learning, improving the quality of life for the birds already in homes, and our preparations for their probable future homes.  Thanks to all the many volunteers across our regions! Your efforts, large and small, create a strong and reliable organization that many parrots have depended on for help when they needed it.

Also some thanks to a couple of recent major donors, the Parrot Posse and Super Bird Toys:

The Parrot Posse is a dedicated group of people who simply care about parrots.  They muster money through auctions and donations in order to provide resources to many different worthy parrot groups all across the United States - mostly welfare organizations and shelters.  The Posse is not a 501(c)(3) organization, it is people solely dedicated to the goodness of giving.  We are enormously grateful for the help of the Posse over the last several years, from 50lb bags of nuts, to perches and bowls, to heat panels and air purifiers.  If you'd like to participate in the Parrot Posse's good works, go to their Facebook page to join:

We'd also like to give a special thanks to Deb White, Chief Executive Bird Brain of Super Bird Toys and makeyourownbirdtoys.com.  Her recent donated batch of toys and toy parts will be  enthusiastically destroyed by the birds in short order!
Our online store, HelpingParrots.com will be closed from Dec 27th - January 8th so that are dedicated store volunteers can have a much deserved vacation. We hope you will shop with us again next year!  All proceeds go directly into our adoption and education programs to help parrots.
Please Consider Adoption!
Phoenix Landing is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer organization. It was established to promote and protect the welfare of parrots through adoption, education and conservation. Almost every bird, from the smallest to the largest, from the most loved to the most neglected, will need a new home someday. Probably a succession of homes. People's lives change, often unexpectedly. One day your bird may need a good new home too.
