The St. Augustine Community Chorus, under the direction of Mike Sanflippo, is pleased to announce the opening of their 2016-2017 concert season with two December performances of  Welcome Yule!  to be presented Saturday, December 10th at 8:00 pm and Sunday, December 11th at 2:00 pm at the beautiful Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine. 

The chorus will be joined by the St. Augustine Youth Chorus which is directed by Kerry Fradley. 

The chorus will be performing Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols with harp accompaniment along with several favorite traditional choral arrangements of John Rutter, Mack Wilberg, Gustav Holst, and Rene Clausen. The program will again feature wonderful excerpts from Handel's Messiah, with chamber orchestra and will include the crowd favorite sing along of the "Hallelujah Chorus" as well as several well-known Christmas carols. 

The chorus is both excited and delighted to join you in celebration of the holiday season by presenting this joyous concert to our community.

Puccini's tragic cross-cultural love story remains one of the world's most popular operas. Be transported to early 20th-century Japan through this production fully-staged at Flagler College's Lewis Auditorium by Helena Binder and conducted by First Coast Opera Artistic Director Curtis Tucker.  Sung in Italian with projected English Supertitles.   Fully staged with orchestra.

Be  an essential part of the Oldest City's most exciting annual event voted Best 2016 Festival/Event of St. Augustine and 2016 Bold City Best Concert/Event in the Jacksonville area.  Volunteers pay a significant role in making this event a rousing success!

Festival volunteers who work a 4-hour shift on Saturday or a 3-hour shift on Sunday receive free lunch, a free tee shirt and free general admission.  Special volunteer opportunities are available for students and community service hours are earned.
