invited to attend the World Hepatitis Summit in Sao Paulo, Brazil



New York, NY October 30, 2017- Guillermo Chacón, President of the Latino Commission on AIDS and founder of the Hispanic Health Network, has been invited by the World Health Organization, the World Hepatitis Alliance and the Minister of Health of Brazil to attend the Summit. The goal of the event is to work on implementing a worldwide health strategy toward the elimination of hepatitis as a public health threat at the global level. The meeting will gather delegates from 109 countries.

Guillermo Chacon will also attend a pre-summit meeting hosted by the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO) on the impact of hepatitis in the Americas and Caribbean nations.

"Screening, prevention, education, and access to care for those impacted by viral hepatitis represents a major challenge for the public health sector. The World Hepatitis Summit, will contribute to encourage partnership development at all levels. The summit will also offer an opportunity to share innovative strategies to address the impact of viral Hepatitis." stated Guillermo Chacón, President of the Latino Commission on AIDS and Founder of the Hispanic Health Network.

invitado a la Cumbre Mundial Sobre Hepatitis en Sao Paulo, Brasil


Nueva York, NY, Octubre 30, 2017. Guillermo Chacón, presidente de la Comisión Latina sobre el SIDA y fundador de la Red Hispana de Salud, ha sido invitado por la Organización Mundial de la Salud, la Alianza Mundial sobre Hepatitis y el Ministerio de Salud de Brasil, a participar en la Cumbre Mundial. La meta del evento es trabajar sobre la implementación de una estrategia mundial de salud para la erradicación de la Hepatitis, por ser una amenaza a la salud pública a nivel global.  Dicha reunión congregara delegados y delegadas de 109 naciones.

Guillermo Chacón también asistirá a la pre-Cumbre organizada por la Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS) sobre el impacto de la Hepatitis en las Américas y el Caribe.

"Diagnostico, prevención, educación y acceso a la atención médica para los impactados por la Hepatitis representa un enorme reto para el sector de salud pública. La Cumbre Mundial sobre Hepatitis, contribuirá y facilitará alianzas a todo nivel. La Cumbre también ofrecerá una oportunidad para compartir estrategias innovadoras para responder al impacto de la Hepatitis viral."
