  • Town Square Television recently filmed a story on storytime at the South St. Paul Public Library. Here's the video
  • Many MN libraries will participate in Minnesota Loves Libraries colorful hands inside shape of MN with Minnesota loves libraries words , a statewide effort sponsored by the regional public library systems. The purpose is to gather stories from library users about why they love their library & how their library has made a difference in their lives. These stories will be shared with legislators on Minnesota Library Legislative Day in March 2017 at the state Capitol.

  • ALA's Libraries Transforming Communities: Models for Change seeks to introduce libraries to various dialogue & deliberation approaches, enabling libraries to foster conversation & lead change in their communities. Read more about this free learning series of 10 webinars & 3 in-person workshops. First session is Feb 9.
  • The ALA Washington Office is calling for nominations for two awards to honor individuals or groups who have championed, protected & promoted public access to government information & the public's right to know. Read about the Madison awards.
  • Outcome Measurement Made Easy with PLA's Project Outcome is a free webinar Jan 12, 1:00 pm CT. Project Outcome is a free online toolkit offering an innovative & easy-to-use platform for public libraries to measure the impact of their programs and services. 
  • OpenSources offers professionally curated lists of online sources, available for public use. Headed by Melissa Zimdars of Merrimack College, our research team consists of professors and librarians dedicated to preserving the integrity of information on the internet. 
  • The deadline to apply for the PBS Learning Digital Innovators program is Feb 13. The application requires that you create & submit an original video. The full application requirements can be found here.
  • FindLectures, curated database, is an effort to centralize the vast quantities of free online lectures & talks into one searchable repository. It pulls from a number of reputable sources, including Oxford University, TalksAtGoogle, TED, the Library of Congress, & more. NextWeb, Dec 4.
