- Concordia University Library is happy to announce that Jon Neilson will be joining our staff at the start of the new
semester as our new Digital Services Librarian.
- Kimberly Werner is joining the Bethel University Library staff today as Materials Services Specialist. She will be serving both the seminary and the university library in cataloging, acquisitions, & more.
- Ebooks Minnesota has added more than 150 new titles from Flux Books, a YA imprint of North Star Editions. The newly added collection includes imaginative and compelling books written by authors such as Maggie Stiefvater, Laurie Stolarz, Simone Elkeles, & A.S. King.

- Caledonia Public Library, Caledonia MN has been selected to participate in the 'Small Libraries Create Smart Spaces' project led by OCLC in partnership with the Association for Rural and Small Libraries (ARSL).

- Dr. Mary Wagner, Professor Emerita, invites alums of the St. Kate's MLIS Program & other interested LIS professionals to take the Summer 2017 International Librarianship Course, LIS 7600. The course involves a seminar & travel to the International Federation of Libraries Association (IFLA) conference to be held in Wroclaw, Poland in Aug19-25, 2017. The enrollment deadline is Dec 16, 2016. - ALA and the ALA Office for Diversity, Literacy, and Outreach Services has launched Libraries Respond, a website and space for us to help keep current events in conversation with libraries' ongoing work in and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. This page will be a resource for the library community to share information, find resources, & connect as they serve their communities.
- MLA's Readers Advisory Roundtable is hosting their Spring Retreat on Apr 1, 2017 at Inver Glen Public Library in Inver Grove Heights.
- AASL invites proposals for concurrent sessions to be presented during its 18th National Conference & Exhibition taking place Nov 9-11, 2017, in Phoenix AZ. More information on proposal guidelines and how to submit.

- Humanities Commons, the scholarly communication network for people working in the humanities. Brought to you by the MLA (Modern Language Association).
- IMLS & the Urban Libraries Council (ULC) are implementing round two of the ConnectED Library Card Challenge. The initiative calls upon library executives, school superintendents, & elected officials to work together on aligning programs and resources in their systems so that every school student can receive a library card & have access to the learning resources of America's public libraries.
- The recently released report Stepping Up to the ConnectED Library Challenge: A Call to Action highlights efforts by the first round of challenge communities and outlines strategies for successful partnerships. Three MELSA libraries were part of round one: Ramsey Co Library, Hennepin Co Library, & St Paul Public Library.
