Final Student Quarter Grades
Final 1st quarter report cards will be posted online on Friday, November 10. There will be no report cards mailed home.
If you need to meet with a teacher, parent-teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, November 16 from 3-7:00 pm.
Information on how to sign up for a conference will be available in the next weekly update.

MyConnect Account
"MyConnect" is the emergency contact system for SBA families. The system is used in the event of a closing for snow, or important information that must be sent to families quickly. If you have not set up an account, please do so. The link below gives instructions to set up your
"MyConnect" account.

We Need Your Help!
We are asking all parents to contact the state legislature in getting the budget passed so that our students will be eligible for the potential of an additional $20 million in EITC funds. Please contact your legislators and let them know that you depend on the EITC and OSTC programs. This money is currently sitting in the budget, and getting the budget passed would be a huge benefit for all!

Senior Portraits
Gurcsik studios will be here today from 10:00 through lunch or the subsequent studies to take the proof orders for Senior Portraits.

Physical Education Requirement
Students who are completing physical education requirements outside of school, please hand in your first timesheet in the office by Tuesday, October 31. New timesheets are available in the office, as well as an attachment.

Winter Uniform
Students should begin wearing their winter uniform on Thursday, November 2. The uniform is purchased through Flynn and O'Hara and includes the following:
· Gray/navy plaid skirt
· Navy blue blazer with logo (for special events)
· Blue sweater or 1/4 zip fleece with logo
· White tennis shirt with logo
· Full-leg navy tights or knee socks and saddle shoes
· Low-cut/no-show socks may be worn under the navy tights
· A white SBA shirt or white turtleneck/mock neck shirt should be worn under the fleece

Counseling & College Services
College Visits:
The following colleges and universities will be visiting Saint Basil Academy during the week of October 30. If you would like to meet with a college representative, please sign up on Naviance. Also please get permission from your teacher if your visit is during class time.

The FAFSA can be filed as early as October 1. Go to
FAFSA.gov.

AP Tests:
The Collegeboard has announced the cost of the 2018 AP tests at $94 per test. Every student that has elected to take an AP class is required to take the AP exam in May of 2018, as outlined in the Program of Study.
When making a payment please make all checks payable to Saint Basil Academy. If you wish to pay by credit card, please pay on the
SBA website. SBA will charge $94 per exam.
We ask that all payments be made by October 31, 2017.

Financial Aid Presentation:
It's never too early to start planning for a college education for our children.

Drama Club
Rehearsals this week
Tuesday 10/31 - Halloween Improv class - until 4:30 pm.
Thursday 11/2 - All until 6 pm.
Saturday 11/4 - Rehearsal 9 am to 12 pm. Stage crew is needed. Please bring costumes.
Fall Drama
Saint Basil Academy Drama Club will be presenting "
The Drama of Drama"
, a collection of 3 plays which concentrate on the Drama that ensues in the high school theatrical world.
Performances will be held Friday, November 10th and Saturday, November 11th at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $10/adults, $7/Seniors & Students and are available at the door.
Please come out and enjoy a full night of theater!
Bring a canned good to donate and receive $1.00 off the ticket price!

It is not too late to return your 10 week club tickets. Your tickets are good for all ten weeks of the drawing. View the list of winners

Volunteering
Please return the yellow volunteer forms that were handed out at Back to School night.
The volunteer form is also available on the SBA website. We are asking that each family volunteer for at least 2 events this year. A list of activities is on our webpage. There are student related events, Parents' Club events and Development events. We have amazing people in place in Admissions, Development and Leadership. Let's give them all the help we can.

Spirit Day Shirts
Orders for Spirit Day Shirts are being taken until this Thursday, November 2nd
. No late orders will be accepted. Please place your order online. We will make an announcement in school once Spirit Day shirts are delivered. They may be worn on Spirit Day, November 22, 2017.

Senior Sweatshirts
It's that time of year! We are taking orders for Senior ¼ zip navy sweatshirts. Orders will be taken until November 10th. The cost is
$40 (size S through XL, or $42 for size 2XL) and includes one name (first or last) embroidered on the back collar. If you do not want a name on your shirt, your cost is $35. This item can be ordered by Seniors, Faculty and Staff only. Thank you.

Kevins Koats
Share the Warmth! Since 2011, the Kevin from Heaven Foundation has partnered with the Krausey's Koat Drive as part of their mission to help others in need. After the first year the Kevin from Heaven Foundation decided they would continue the program every year since it was so successful. Donations will be distributed to those less fortunate in the tri-state area. Donation boxes have been set up at SBA.
Please donate gently worn coats, scarves, hats, gloves and mittens for men, women and children through November 11th.
