Memphis and the Mid-South, listen up! The area's largest teen learning lab CLOUD901 is hosting a Mix Tape Listening Party on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017,
6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library (3030 Poplar Ave., CLOUD901).
Featuring the smooth and rhythmic sounds teens have created, mixed, produced and recorded inside the audio lab, this party is a showcase of local, up-and-coming musicians, singers and songwriters!

Completing education hours is a lot easier (and cheaper) for teachers, daycare center workers and other childcare providers, thanks to Memphis Public Library's FREE Childcare Provider Workshops. Educators who want to sharpen their skills or to stay abreast of industry trends are welcomed to attend any workshop listed on the Library's schedule.
Topics for upcoming 2017 Childcare Provider Workshops include Phonics and Sight Words for Preschoolers, Craft Designing & Creative Visual Aids, Educational Psychology: From Piaget to Vygotsky, Safe and Effective Evacuation Plans, Professionalism in the Classroom, Best Marketing Practices for Your Center, Basic Spanish for Preschoolers, 3-D Art, Teaching Cooperative Learning Through Music, Creative Movement Storytelling and more!

Libraries and Code-Crew Helping Teens Make the Most of Every 'Hour'
Teens in CLOUD901
Memphis Public Libraries are encouraging teens to spend an "hour of code" with the Code-Crew, a non-profit organization committed to teaching youth 21st century skills like computer coding. Through a partnership with Memphis Public Libraries, Code-Crew is offering teens in CLOUD901 a free opportunity to learn skills that could pay exponentially in the future.
 
Students in CLOUD901 who have learned coding skills to create original video games will showcase their creations to the public during the Unity Game Design Showcase on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, 1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. at CLOUD901, located inside the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library (3030 Poplar Ave.).
Students ages 13 - 18 can apply for Spring 2017 Code-Crew Classes at CLOUD901 by simply clicking here  or by visiting http://bit.ly/TigerCrewSpring2017. Apply today! The application deadline is January 3, 2017.

Memphis Public Library's Family Tunes & Tales Storytime, hosted in partnership with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, welcomes customers to the magical world of stories brought to life by live orchestra performances!
Family Tunes and Tales Storytime 2013 - Bartlett Library
Kids' imaginations develop as they hear the orchestra play the staccato steps of a horse run and come to a screeching halt or other amusing musical accompaniment.
Audience members also learn all about the instruments, as musicians host a question-and-answer period and share how they create the unique sounds.
