DCB-MB Series cartridges are dual media filters which remove or reduce chlorine, chemical contamination and sediment to improve taste and odor of drinking water. These filters also provide removal/reduction of oil, hydrocarbons, chemical contamination and particulate in waste water polishing applications. Each DCB-MB filter utilizes a porous activated coconut shell carbon block medium on the inside and polypropylene melt blown pre-filtration medium which complies with FDA CFR 177.1520 on the outside.

Todd Furbee Attends AFS Conference in San Diego

Todd Furbee, President of Delta Pure Filtration presented a paper titled "Pre-Filtration for Reverse Osmosis and Membrane Filtration Systems" at the American Filtration Society (AFS) on October 25, 2016. The paper addressed the need for pre-filtration for optimal performance of reverse osmosis and membrane filtration systems. Todd discussed the ability of pre-filters to remove suspended particulates such as sand, silt, clay, colloids and other contaminants from feed streams so as to greatly impact the performance and longevity of any RO/membrane system.
Todd reviewed a variety of pre-filtration methods along with their performance, benefits and drawbacks. The presentation explained the role Sand or Media Filters, Bag Filters, Filter Screens, Cartridge Filters and Automatic Back-washing filters play in RO systrems. Todd also explained feed water quality specifications along with the methods for measuring and testing the feed water.
Delta Pure Filtration provides a variety of filters for RO Pre-Filtration including melt blown, string wound and high-flow pleated types.
At the end of the conference Todd took a tour of the Claude "Bud" Lewis Carlsbad Desalination Plant, the largest desalination plant in North America. This plant is a 50 million gallon per day seawater desalination plant located adjacent to the Encina Power Station in Carlsbad California.
