The music of Ayreheart reflects elements of the many kinds of music: Folk, Classical, Jazz, Bluegrass, Celtic and others. The combination of lute, fretless bass, and a variety of percussion instruments, blends the old and new to create the unique and timeless sound that is Ayreheart.

Come meet an award-winning musical misfit who crawled out of a Louisiana bayou and embarked on a journey paved by progressive rock. She headed for Istanbul and took a wrong turn somewhere around Ireland, creating delicious mayhem along the way: inventing some scandalous new traditions, coining some new words, collecting sick jokes and playing some blazing new riffs with a hypnotic new sound.

Alan Reid was a vital member of Scotland's legendary Battlefield Band for 40 years, recording almost 30 albums, winning awards and touring all over the world. In addition to his signature keyboard work he has forged a reputation for composing songs with beguiling melodies and strong historical content. He was nominated in the 2009 Scots Tradition Awards in the 'Composer of the Year' category. Alan has continued developing his song writing in his partnership with Rob van Sante who adds subtle guitar accompaniments and fine harmony singing.

Sue Richards and Carolyn Surrick Sue Richards on Celtic harp, and Carolyn Surrick on viola da gamba, have been performing together for almost 30 years. Brought together in a recording session for Maggie Sansone in 1987, the two have found themselves touring the country with Ensemble Galilei, side by side in dozens of recording sessions, sitting at movie premieres at the Sundance Film Festival listening to their original compositions on the soundtrack to a feature film, and working with wounded warriors and their families at Walter Reed. Their performances are a celebration of their long and spectacular musical partnership. A perfect choice for Valentine's Day, the music they make is the result of a life shared on the road and in concert halls - they play with virtuosity and a deep affection for their music, and each other.
|
The full spectrum of Celtic music, song and dance from this seminal band. High energy arrangements, featuring strong vocals, fiddle, flute, banjo, bass, bouzouki and percussion: a tour of ALL the Celtic nations!
|
Probably the foremost Celtic bouzouki/guitar and mandolin exponent in the nation! Award-winning Celtic/American string wizard Robin Bullock. Robin is a prolific composer and multi-instrumentalist, whose virtuosity on guitar, cittern and mandolin blends the ancient melodies of the Celtic lands and their vigorous Appalachian descendants into one powerful musical vision.
