Adult Bible Class this Sunday
- In the sanctuary, we will continue Bible Information Class. This week's lesson is "The Sacraments - Baptism". This class is for members, and those interested in church membership.
- In the school commons we are studying the Solas of the Reformation. This week we study Sola Fide, or By Faith Alone. How can faith save?

Reformation Weekend @ Abiding Word
- Saturday, October 28th from 10am-12pm, Pastor John Braun, author of Luther's Protest: From 95 Theses to Reformation, will present the reformation lecture. You are welcome to stay for lunch afterward.
- Sunday, October 29th 4:00pm, area reformation service with meal to follow. Pastor John Braun will be the guest preacher. The reformation offering will go to the MLC grant program.

New Sunday Evening Bible Study
"It is written, "I believed; therefore I have spoken.' With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak." (2 Corinthians 4:13) God has given us the gift of faith in his Son Jesus, our Savior. It is only natural that we speak about him. On Sunday November 5th at 5 pm we will begin a study on the Formula of Concord, one of the confessions of faith the Lutheran church has used to speak about our Savior. Join us as we review what we believe on the basis of God's Word and see how this confession speaks about it.

Mom's Anchored in Christ
(MAC) is a group of mom's that meet once a month for a bible study and bunco or an evening out. We will be going to "Escape in Time" in The Woodlands on Saturday, November 11 at 6:00 pm. If you are interested or want more information contact Candice Learman (760-644-4605).

If you've been collecting Box Tops for our school/preschool - please turn them in now!
You can drop them by the school office, hand them to Joel or Robin Freese - or put them in their church mailbox.
Each Box Top is worth 10 cents and that free money really adds up!
Box Tops have an expiration date, so its important to turn them in regularly.

Smart Money Livestream
Over the last 25 years, millions of lives have been changed through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. This November, Dave will be live streaming his Smart Money event to churches across the country. We are excited to announce that we will be a host site for this event. The best part? It's absolutely free for you to attend!
This three-hour event is going to lay out a seven-step proven plan for getting you and your family out of debt, and on track to live and give like you never have before.

Fun Fellowship
What is Fun Fellowship?? It's a new activity where everyone is welcome and anyone can host an event. Just think of something fun to do like
going to a game, having a kickball tournament, seeing a play, whatever you think would be fun and contact the church office to publicize your event and get it on the church calendar. Don't feel like you have to host on your own, get your church group involved and host together. (ROC, LYC, Young Adults, Choir, SHINE, Church Council)
Our first event is a Chris Tomlin concert hosted by Jascha and Krista Patton.
When: Saturday, October 28 at 7:00pm, Chris will go on around 9:00
Where: 2203 Riva Row, The Woodlands TX
We will be provide waters, dip and chips and grilled sausage. There is a grill so feel free to bring something to grill and something to share
if you want to.

Kitchen Organization/Cleaning
The Caretaker Committee is facilitating a kitchen organization/cleaning day on
October 28th
from
9-noon
. If you are interested in volunteering your time in this way, feel free to bring cleaning supplies and/or a label maker. We are looking forward to tending to the kitchen before the start of the Advent season. If you have any questions, please contact Monika Mitby or Rebekah Patterson. Open Gym Moves to Sundays
In November open gym will be held on Sundays from 7:00- 8:30. The next three

Thanksgiving Camping Trip
Calling All Abiding Word Campers! Those of you who are interested in joining us on our annual camping trip to Huntsville State Park November 24 and 25, please contact Debby Perry. There are limited spots available so it will be "first come, first served"...see me for details!
