Looking for Special Needs Liaison
We are looking for a special needs liaison to represent ICS with the district council. Your role would be to:
  • Communicate about Special Needs Group meetings and other community events.
  • Advocate for meaningful inclusion in school events.
  • Educate the student body and staff about disabilities.
If you are interested in this fully-supported role please, contact PTSA president or Jennifer MacLachlan.
Lunchtime Games Volunteers Needed
Lunchtime games volunteers work during the ICS lunch period and are responsible for setting up/taking down the ping pong tables and overseeing the check-out and return of the outdoor balls (soccer, basketball).

Lunchtime games volunteers work at the following times: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 11:30 am - 12:05 pm and Wednesdays, 12:05 - 12:30 pm (arriving a little early each day to set up the tables). At this time, we still need volunteers to cover Wednesdays and Thursdays. We also need several additional volunteers to serve as substitutes when regular volunteers are unavailable.

We are ready to start these very popular lunch games as soon as volunteers are arranged to help each day. Please email our lunchtime games coordinator,  Heather Woldman, if you would like to sign up, and indicate which day(s) you are available.
Nominating Committee Volunteer Needed
The role of the nominating committee is to recruit people for elected PTSA positions. This committee plays a vital role in PTSA's success. Having qualified people in leadership positions is paramount to fulfilling our mission as a PTSA.
Committee work includes holding meetings, reviewing nominations, and searching for the best qualified candidates for leadership roles in the PTSA. If you're interested in volunteering for this position, please contact the PTSA president.
ICS Ski/Snowboard Club Updates
Is your student interested in heading up to Stevens Pass to ski or snowboard this winter? Have them come with us on the ICS Ski Bus! We'll have an info night at 7:00 pm, November 1st, in the Lyceum.
Ski Bus will run six Wednesdays after school this winter at a cost of $200/student:
  • January 3rd, 10th, 17th, 31st (skip January 24 for finals)
  • February 7th, 14th
Are your students new to the sport or want to improve?  They can sign up for lessons through Stevens Pass Ski School, available for all abilities. Lessons for five sessions will cost $150 per student.
We are arranging lessons for the first five of the six days we go up, with the last day as a free ski/board day to enjoy time with their friends!  Passes also are available at a discount for students taking lessons.
Please join us November 1 for more info and to sign up! Questions in the meantime?  Email us at [email protected]
Use the ICS Calendar to Connect
What's the best way to publicize an event to ICS parents and students? Putting it in the newsletter is a great start, but there's a second important step: Get the event on the ICS calendar! Just email the following details to [email protected]
  • What the event is
  • When and where it's happening
  • Whom the event is for
Please note the event must be organized by the school, the district, the ICS PTSA or Washington State PTA, the ICS ASB, or PTSA/ASB-affiliated clubs and committees for inclusion on the ICS calendar.
