YouthFest 2016
At the Moreno Valley YouthFest, families have access to tons of information about resources and services geared toward safety, health and wellness, special needs, education, financial and college planning, recreation and other important family related, youth developing topics. Visitors will enjoy interactive demonstrations, informative displays, and entertainment. There will also be fun with jumpers, face painting, balloon artists, clowns, food vendors and a FREE punt, pass and kick game.

Just in time for peak summer produce, a new weekly farmers market opened August 18th on the campus of RUHS Medical Center in Moreno Valley. Farmers Market hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Thursday, rain or shine, except holidays. Vendors will be selling fresh flowers, stone fruit, grapes, berries, citrus, eggs, leafy greens, tomatoes, Mediterranean foods and baked goods. Last month, the construction of the new Hyundai of Moreno Valley started. Hyundai of Moreno Valley began grading on the first new dealership built in Moreno Valley in nearly twelve years. Located at 27500 Eucalyptus Avenue, near the Stoneridge Towne Center, the Moreno Valley store will showcase the corporation's new dealership prototype.
Construction is expected to continue through the Fall of 2016 and the dealer anticipates selling cars by Christmas 2016!

Karma Automotive unveiled their new luxury tri-powered automobile - the Revero - and it is made in Moreno Valley! First in the U.S. to successfully incorporate a solar system that can operate the vehicle, the Karma Revero has a sleek photovoltaic panel in the roof.
Deliveries from the Moreno Valley plant are expected to begin in early 2017.

Moreno Valley is proud of its military heritage and those in service to our country. In support of local military personnel and their families, the City installs Military Appreciation Banners along major thoroughfares.
Families and friends of loved ones who have a military banner in Moreno Valley can now locate them online. The new GIS-based banner mapping tool is another way the City honors members of the military and their families. The new online map can be found

Volunteer Opportunities
with the Animal Shelter
Be part of doing great work in your community! The City needs volunteers for a variety of services including help at the Animal Shelter. Volunteers can do things such as: pet grooming, dog walking, care-taking, photography, assistance with lost and found services, or shelter events.

Alert MoVal is the City's opt-in emergency alert system we will use to rapidly send notifications to residents and businesses in an affected area of an emergency or disaster. All residents are encouraged to opt-in to become informed during an emergency.
Options for notification preferences include: landline and cell phone numbers, text message and/or email.

Community Emergency Response Team Training
The City of Moreno Valley Office of Emergency Management will be conducting a 3-day Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training course. CERT is a program managed by Office of Emergency Management that trains members to respond to disasters and work effectively with emergency responders by utilizing medical, triage, light search and rescue, disaster fire suppression, damage assessments, cribbing and leveraging techniques.
The upcoming 3-day CERT course will be held in the Emergency Operations Center at 22870 Calle San Juan De Los Lagos on the following days:
Friday, September 30, 2016 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Saturday, October 1, 2016 - 8:00am to 5:00pm
Sunday, October 2, 2016 - 8:00am to 5:00pm

To help protect you and your family against the Zika Virus, the City of Moreno Valley is providing the following information:
Zika virus spreads to people primarily through the bite of an infected Aedes species mosquito. Many people might not realize they have been infected. The illness is usually mild with symptoms lasting for several days to a week. Symptoms may include fever, rash, joint pain, and conjunctivitis (red eyes).
There is no vaccine to prevent Zika. The best way to prevent diseases spread by mosquitoes is to protect yourself and your family from mosquito bites. For tips on how to prevent Zika, please visit
