Stewardship 2017

During Advent, as we await the gift of the Christ Child, we'll consider the many other gifts that God has given us, and how we are called to offer those gifts back to God.

Each Sunday, we'll hear stories from different members of our congregation about the ministries of Nativity.  As you listen, consider also how Nativity has impacted your life and faith.  Consider also the potential Nativity has for growth and service in the future.

This past Sunday, we heard from Matt Canniff-Kesecker.  To read his story, please click here.

On Dec 4th, Stewardship Packets will be available in the fellowship hall.  Your 2017 Pledge Card will be included, and you'll have the opportunity to turn in your pledge each week during worship.  Our final pledge Sunday will be January 8th.

Please faithfully consider how God is calling you to give to the ministry of Nativity.  Your pledge enables us to live our mission statement, "Making Christ Known."

+ Meet Gary Mitchell,
Nativity's New Interim Musician
We welcome Gary Mitchell as our interim musician! Gary has led congregational song for most of his professional career, having served in Methodist, Presbyterian, and Lutheran congregations throughout Western North Carolina.
Gary comes to us having just completed ten years of service as the Minister of Music and Sacred Arts at First Congregational United Church of Christ in downtown Asheville. He earned his B.A. at Pfeiffer University and his M.A. at Albany State University, both in Music Education. Gary was the Director of Vocal Music for Asheville High School from 1992-2004 and recently directed Beauty and the Beast for the Asheville Community Theatre. Gary is married to the Rev. David Eck, pastor of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Fairview, NC; they have two adult children and one grandchild. We are grateful to have Gary leading us in song during this transitional period and his email address will be [email protected]. Welcome to Nativity, Gary!

+ Welcome back, Corinne!
We welcome Corinne Feid back to the Nativity office! While we are looking for a new Parish Administrator, Corinne has graciously agreed to come out of retirement and help us fill in the administrative gaps. Corinne retired from this position in 2011 after serving for 28 years. We give thanks for her willingness to help in this time of transition. Corinne's email address will be [email protected].

+ Ending well in 2016

With 4 Sundays remaining in this calendar year, we are now in the home-stretch.
We are most of the way to meeting our giving goal for 2016. In order to end well this year, we need to receive $92,342 in this final month.  Please complete your pledges for the year, so that we can end well.

Note: Un-pledged gifts are also welcome!

Thank you for contributing to the ministry of Nativity!
