Realizing the Power of Your Thoughts

Students continued with PX2 and learned a little more about how your mind works and how, if focused on positive actions, can yield amazing results.

Susan Hanfland of SCH Consulting joined us on Friday to discuss positive self-talk and the importance of raising self-esteem.

Innovating and Improving Efficiency using LEAN

The class was divided into two groups and learned how to communicate and organize an assembly line to be the most productive group.

This class struggled a bit; usually each round yields higher production and a better quality product. This class was plagued with rejects. We learned it takes a lot more time fixing mistakes than doing it right the first time.

These candy bars will be used to invite prospective student to visit our class in January.
Learning about the Hospitality Industry

David Kirsch and Paul Medjrich of the Unique Suites Hotel and Brickhouse Bar and Grill, both have years of experience in the hotel and restaurant industry. They discussed the history of the the property and how they have built a following in the community to help fill the restaurant, hotel and banquet area.

We discussed fixed/variable costs and contribution margins of the business and the value of being a full-service facility.
We are so thankful for the generosity of the Coles County businesses that sponsor ClassE. We hope you support them as they support us!
