Golf Outing at Mendakota Country Club
DCR Chamber members have a great opportunity for team building, customer appreciation, or just fun at Mendakota Country Club on Monday, August 28.
The day includes lunch, golf, cart, use of the driving range and practice green, and hors d'oeuvres to wrap up the day. Pricing is $100 per person (plus tax and service charge). There is no limit to the number of people you can sign up. It's first come, first served. The Pro Shop is standing by to accept your reservation at 651.454.4200. Payment is due prior to the event. In the event of inclement weather, a back up date will be used.

Employers Invited to Participate in "Employers of Excellence"
The Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board (WDB) is inviting employers to participate in the "Employers of Excellence" Awards program for 2017. The program will recognize the best employers in the two-county area and provides an overview of employment data, and trends and practices on what employers are doing to maintain an engaged workforce. The program collects data from area employers and produces a 20-page report on employment trends and practices in Dakota and Scott counties. From the data received the WDB will recognize the businesses that are experiencing the best results in employee retention efforts and providing the best work environments in the area. Additionally, participating employers will receive a confidential report including their individual metrics.

Member Spotlight: Continuing to Build Relationships

I started my career as a financial advisor in the spring of 2015 after graduating from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in financial management. I ultimately settled on AXA Advisors because of the ability to work with a wide variety of clients, whether that's growing families, clients approaching retirement, or business owners looking for a solution that intertwines their personal financial goals as well as their business goals. Our network of hundreds of different companies that we partner with allows me to provide the best solution for each client's unique situation, which gives me the opportunity to change lives every day.
I was recently named the Chair of the Emerging Leaders Group with the Dakota County Regional Chamber and also serve on the Golf Classic Committee. I participate in the Peer2Peer Roundtable group, the Ambassador Committee, and regularly attend Coffee Breaks as well as Why Not Wednesdays. I grew up and went to school in Rosemount, and am looking forward to building my practice and continuing to build relationships while helping out in the Dakota County community in any way possible.

DCR Chamber members are invited to participate in The 2017 Women2Women Tour on July 31 which is all about connecting women business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs with their elected officials and local women leaders in small business and entrepreneurship. This tour is an opportunity to have a constructive dialogue about the barriers women face to starting their own businesses and how to use the tools available in the private sector and in government to overcome those barriers. As a participant, you will be able speak frankly with your elected officials about what they can do to improve outcomes for women entrepreneurs. What makes these events unique is your participation.
